Shapeshifting

I'm afraid the title of this post doesn't detail the process of shifting into a wolf, a car, or even a doppelganger, which, is that even shapeshifting? Cloning yourself?

Well, speaking of doppelgangers, my wife and I watched "Infinity Pool" last night and holy shit is it amazing. It has this "Eyes Wide Shut" meets "Hostel" vibe going on, although, "Infinity Pool" really is its own thing. There's this thing that happens near the end, "nursing the young" we'll call it, and the meaning didn't hit me until about an hour after we'd finished it and the proverbial light bulb in my mind went on. I'm not that sharp anyway, so allegories/analogies, I get kinda lost on those. You know, those hidden meanings and what not. I tend to take things at face value first, the surface, if you will, before my brain actually does brain things and I begin to interpret the why's and what have you's.

So why the title Shapeshifter's, huh? What's this all about? It's about me shifting the shape of my writing career. I'm going into my ninth year as a writer this month and going through manuscripts and stories that I wrote in those early days and some not even a few years ago. What I've found, like most things in life, the stuff that's hard, the stuff that you continue to work at, well, you start to get better, and then a little better, and so on.

Since it's been three years since my last published work, I thought I'd share that I might have a new story coming out soon. However, the acceptance letter I received was over three months ago and I haven't heard anything since. So, maybe not. The point is, I'm proud of it and I think folks who dig the X-Files and campy horror will like it too.

What's that mean for you? Well, if it's not, I'll publish it here. :0) Unless you don't like it, then :0(. Still, all it'll cost is your precious time, and I do mean precious because there's a really good movie you should watch called "Infinity Pool" that deserves your attention.

Take care,

Sean
